Graboplast Hírek Advent Calendar from Grabo - Hungarian Innovation Prestige Award
Advent Calendar from Grabo - Hungarian Innovation Prestige Award

Innovacios Presztizs dij GraboplastIt has been a great honour for our company to win the Hungarian regional Innovation Prestige Award in the recent days.

We think that this recognition is due not only to the Silver Knight product manufactured with a patented process, which destroys microorganisms reaching its surface within a short time without using antibiotics, including the most resistant so-called super bacteria liable for the majority of nosocomial infections.

In our opinion, the awarding persons also considered how quickly Graboplast reacted to the first wave of the pandemic, and developed products, including among others the wall covering with Silver Knight surface.

It is also some sort of innovation, when a patented process is used on a completely different product, and a production method adjusted to the circumstances is quickly found.

The high market demand on such products is reasonably, and the second wave may direct the attention of decision-makers again to all solutions that increase the general hygiene level.

We, at Graboplast, wait for the abatement of the pandemic, the restoration of the regular circumstances, boundary conditions, connections, possibilities of communications from both economic and personal aspects.

Now, however, we are making preparations for the unusual year end. Everybody tries to find a way to make connections with their loved ones, even if not personally, and thereby to continue, preserve and strengthen the Christmas tradition and atmosphere.

On this occasion we would like to share our first festive recipe what is recommended as an appetizer for your Christmas dinner.

tesztakosarkak makrelakremmelIngredients
for 16-18 pieces

For the pastry
2 packs of puff pastry
1 beaten egg

For the mackerel filling
2 fillets of smoked mackerel
2 tbsp. of horseradish
2 tbsp. of soured cream (or cream fraiche)
5 tbsp. mayonnaise
few drops of lime juice

For serving:
2 tbsp. of chopped and fried onions
1 bunch of finely chopped chives

Preheat the oven for 200 °C. Place puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Using a 3,5-4 cm biscuit cutter and cut circles. Half of these circles cut a smaller (around 2-2,5 cm) hole at the middle.

Brush the full circles with egg wash, then place the cut out ones on the top, like a frame, forming a hollow at the centre. Then brush the top with egg wash as well. Place them on a prepared baking sheet, and bake for 15-16 minutes.

For the filling, in a large bowl smash the mackerel fillets with a fork, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix them well. Fill the cooled puff tartlets with this filling, then spread with the fried oninons and with fresh chives.
